Prevalencia de hallazgos patológicos en el seno maxilar detectados en tomografías computarizadas cone beam de los pacientes atendidos en el instituto de diagnóstico maxilofacial en el año 2017

Abstract

El objetivo de la presente investigación fue determinar la prevalencia de hallazgos patológicos en el seno maxilar detectados en las Tomografías Computarizadas Cone Beam (TCCB), de los pacientes atendidos en el Instituto de Diagnóstico Maxilofacial (IDM) en el periodo 2017. El tamaño de muestra consistió en 153 TCCB; es decir fueron evaluados un total de 306 senos maxilares del lado derecho e izquierdo, se dividieron en dos grupos de estudio; el primer grupo correspondió al grupo 01 o sector posterior del maxilar dentado y el segundo al grupo 02 o sector posterior del maxilar edéntulo parcial.

The objective of the present investigation was to determine the prevalence of pathological findings in the maxillary sinus detected in the Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) of the patients treated at the Maxillofacial Diagnostic Institute (MDI) in the period 2017. The sample size consisted of 153 TCCB; a total of 306 maxillary sinuses on the right and left side were evaluated, they were divided into two study groups; the first group corresponded to group 01 or posterior sector of the dentate maxilla and the second to group 02 or posterior sector of the partial edentulous maxilla.
