El siguiente estudio tiene como propósito determinar las estrategias de afrontamiento preponderantes en los adolescentes del 3er grado de secundaria, de la Institución Educativa 5180 Abraham Valdelomar del distrito de Puente Piedra, ubicado en Laderas de Chillón. La muestra estuvo conformada por 40 alumnos de edades entre los 13 y 16 años, del 3er grado de secundaria de las secciones “A” y “B” de una escuela de gestión pública de ámbito rural. Esta investigación es de tipo descriptiva, de diseño no experimental; la muestra fue de tipo censal. Por otro lado el instrumento utilizado para este estudio fue: The Adolescent Coping Scale (ACS) de Frydenberg y Lewis, adaptación de Beatriz Canessa para Lima metropolitana; en donde los resultados indicaron la prevalencia de las estrategia Preocuparse (M= 75,90), en cuanto a las estrategias pertenecientes al Estilo 3: Afrontamiento No productivo; la estrategia Buscar apoyo espiritual (M=61,13), correspondiente al Estilo 2: Referencias a los otros; en último lugar se encuentra la estrategia Buscar diversiones relajantes (M=78,75) concerniente al Estilo 1: Dirigido a Resolver el problema. The following study has the purpose to determine the preponderant of Coping strategies in students of the 3rd grade of secondary, of the Educational Institution 5180 Abraham Valdelomar of the district of Puente Piedra, located in Laderas de Chillón. The sample consisted of 40 students between the ages of 13 and 16, of the 3rd grade of secondary school in sections "A" and "B" of a public management school in rural areas. This investigation was a descriptive type, of non-experimental design; the sample was census type. On the other hand, the instrument used for this study was: Adolescent Coping Scale (ACS) of Frydenberg and Lewis, adaptation of Beatriz Canessa for metropolitan Lima; the results indicated the prevalence of the strategy Worry (M = 75.90), regarding the strategies belonging to Style 3: Nonproductive Coping; the strategy Find spiritual support (M = 61.13), corresponding to Style 2: References to others; Lastly, we find the strategy Find relaxing activities (M = 78.75) concerning Style 1: Aimed at solving the problem.
